Thanks for making LL!
Thanks for making LL!
I chose to use it, because it is (I assume) much lighter in RAM than the default launcher (TouchWiz) in SGS3.
There seems to be many feature requests on the comments.
I just hope, LL won’t get bloated, but if possible would have even smaller RAM footprint so other running apps wouldn’t need to be stopped on the background by the system for example on some smaller devices (like Samsung G Young which has 290 MB RAM only) when LL is visited.
And if someone knows some other launcher, which has yet smaller RAM footprint than LL, please give me a hint.

Thank you for the support !
Well, I think that version 1.0 of LL (at that time called Tiny Home) was using less memory 😉
Don’t worry : preventing bloat is always the top priority item on the TODO list : I just added it to the TODO list, item 0 ;-).
As long as new features only involve code and no third party libraries or no big assets (built-in images, fonts, etc) the app will remain lean.

Jouni Lohikoski there are a few, but most aren’t even worth messing with as they are extremely unpolished to the point of ugly. The only one I ever found that was worth anything when I searched for the same thing a year ago (I too had a rather low end device) was StoicHome (no space) which is a very minimal 36.12kb download from the Play Store. Be warned, however, that it doesn’t come with an app drawer so you have to get one of those separately. It works well once you figure out how to set it up to your liking. It’s designed to be a true minimal shell that you add to with other utility apps to make it truly unique. It also relies on gestures quite a bit. I don’t remember for sure, but I don’t think it has widget support.
Any launcher will use more RAM the more you add to it. Lightning is no exception. If you keep wallpaper, widgets, etc to a minimum, then Lightning will perform well with a very light footprint. Try the others if you like, but you’ll end up coming back.
