I’d like to be able to use Tasker to kick off an automated backup of my current launcher template.
I see that Backups are not in the existing choices for ‘Lightning Actions’ inside the Tasker plugin. Is there an intent that will kick this off, or would I need to use scripting?

Works with or without Softkeys(must adjust Globals) and different Launchers (with support vertical scroll). If you use other then LL you need to setup the Favoritespanel, and customize Touch for the Navigation.
I used a grid with 8 Cols and 12 Rows and LL.
A lot of Globals to customize.
Notifications shown for:
Whatsapp, TypeApp, GMail, Hangouts, Phone.
If you use others please adjust by yourself.
If Current day has events a badge will be shown..
Alarm in statusbar is colored when alarm is set
Pause music is shown when playing but music panel is hidden.

On Marshmallow, you have to give Lightning Launcher “Draw over other apps” permission in the System/Apps settings to be able to use a floating desktop.
Without this permission, LL aborts when you try to display a floating desktop.
However, LL doesn’t prompt the user to set that permission, so it’s not obvious what the user should do to prevent the abort.
