V10.6b2

Important bug fixes in this new beta:

– Fix a crash (symptom: unresponsive app, need to force close)

– Fix status bar not hidden on Android 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2

– Fix system bars overlap options not always correctly set after upgrade

And also:

Allow negative values in box settings: nice to remove padding from widgets 🙂

Thanks for your support in fixing this bug quickly!

V10.6b1 new beta available soon

V10.6b1 new beta available soon

I am really happy to announce this new beta: it’s been a long time since the last one!

No in depth change yet, albeit some new features are hopefully worth the wait. More visible changes are scheduled for 10.7.

And here is the Change Log:

• Support for custom status and navigation bar color (full support for Android 5+, tinted on Android 4.4)

• Experimental “seamless mode” (infinite scroll, wrap)

• Add a colorize icon option

• Settings dealing with the status, navigation and app drawer bars are now gathered in a single “System bars” screen

• Re-enabled move on focus change (devices with a directional pad or a keyboard)

• Improved icon selection when applying an icon pack

• Panels are not anymore in expert mode only

• Dynamic text: hide the whole item when the value is 0, not just the text

• Add a “Play Store” entry in the item “App” menu.

• Try to resolve issues with two stop points at the same place, please let me know if it breaks any existing setup

• Fix Android 5 inability to handle long tap on script selector in the script editor

• Fix an issue where a theme cannot be applied because of the app version

• Fix a memory leak with panels in edit mode

• When loading a template, scale the grid size in fixed mode

• Fix swipe events container in script

Online in a couple of hours…

All, there has been no update since a while, and some of you may have noticed that I was pretty slow to answer too.

All, there has been no update since a while, and some of you may have noticed that I was pretty slow to answer too.

I have been busy with other stuff, and didn’t even checked my messages each day. Fortunately December will be an easier month, with free time to work on this project, at last.

Over the last few weeks, so much stuff has been added to the to do list that I have no idea where to start, but I just wanted to let you know that fresh new things are coming!

v10.5.2

v10.5.2

A really minor update: fixes a bug when using Android 5.0 (and developer preview L).

This one won’t get reviewed in some well known news site because of backported animations, but at least it should work as usual 🙂

Just a quick update… to say that there is no update in progress yet!

Just a quick update… to say that there is no update in progress yet!

Unfortunately I won’t have a lot of time for Lightning during the next few weeks, maybe not until the end of November. Chances are that I will be quiet and laggy a bit more than usual…

Don’t worry, I am still committed to improve a few key things (and about 1000 other ones…). One thing that is discussed a lot these days is the launcher icon. Ok, that’s not really a feature, but it’s time to change it.

My feeling is that the new icon is here in the Discussion category, or almost there. Brainstorming has been fruitful, now a choice has to be made.

But with the new icon, I want to change at least two other things: the default setup with the ability to “skin” it, and the introduction video (the current one really sucks).

That’s a lot of work (for me), so please be patient!

v10.5 (release candidate)

v10.5 (release candidate)

This is published as a beta but I will promote it to the production channel if nothing prevents it.

Just a couple of minor changes:

– when scaling widget, round new sizes to the nearest integer (previously: truncated). That’s a refinement that should have a very limited impact.

– pickcolor renamed to pickColor (camel case), add a “title” parameter to pickColor and pickNumericValue (this is an incompatible change but since these functions have been introduced 3 days ago it shouldn’t be too much a problem).

Hi Pierre, when will  the beta be released that will support the above ? Thanks, Nigel

v10.5b4

v10.5b4

This fourth iteration brings improvements and fixes to the features introduced at the beginning of this beta cycle.

It also contains an experimental Zooper widget scaling when loading templates, thanks to Lutz Linke . This scaling should help in loading themes accross any screen, by adjusting the widget size to fit the target screen. This hack is experimental: tested successfully with 4 devices, but it need some more testing to be declared reliable.

Changelog:

– experimental Zooper widget scaling when loading templates

– add LL.pickColor, LL.pickNumericValue and LL.pickImage functions

– add LL.startActivityForResult, useful to access other apps services, such as file picking, or sharing

– Container.getItemByLabel will also return items for which name is not set and label matches

– new set/getTag methods with support for an identifier

– fix the title of the item name dialog
