TrianguloY there was two issues in one: technically the first bug was something like this:
icon change process = release the old one, then copy the new one
Since the old one is also the new one, the icon is released before it can be used 🙁
And there was also another issue where an error in this situation wasn’t expected and the launcher was trying to free the default icon.

Somehow I can’t undo the icon colorize too go back to its original icon color. I have to completely remove the shortcut and make a new shortcut. Or do I miss something. Or is this the bug you were talking about in this thread.

Lukas Morawietz pure white does the trick. Thank you. I tried transparent but that does not bring the original icon color back. At least for me. in the help section it said standard is 0xffffffff but you only need to use ffffffff. Where does the 0x stand for?

Visually #ffffffff and #00ffffff can be the same, but use #ffffffff for best efficiency because there is a specific test for this default value (the launcher will skip any colorize processing in this case)
