Now that is bad ass.. Pierre Hébert I bet if you were able to put those transitions in the main choices without script, (along with Windows over any app lmao jk jk bro) your users would double or at least come close Lutz Linke excellent work bro

I can’t believe it!! I jus made the damn card stack using jus side bars lol wow I feel kinda smart almost… I really wanna learn script, but I have to literally start from the very beginning of programming

Lol na ya don’t, just start with the basics of javascript that’s the language LL scripts use. Pierre wrote a great post for me the other day myt be worth digging it up if he hasn’t stickied it/wikiid it/moved it/ yet.
Don’t be expecting to do things lyk this^ though for quite a while, everyone starts somewhere

Impressive! that’s great to see how the animation works step by step with a low speed.
As for myself, I would be able to code such an animation by replicating, but not imagine a nice transition like this one!

Can we see your script somewhere?

Benoît de Chezelles Not yet, it’s not stable enough. Sometimes image cannot be drawn (memory? Have Companion on other desktop), also on first open folder’s container’s size cannot be determined. Give me a few days and it can probably be applied without much setup to any folder (resumed event).

Ok, Thanks!
I just wanted to look at the code, I always wanted to add some animation, but I never understood how to make an animation working…

Benoît de Chezelles Depends. Here the first is simply the default folder open effect with fade. The ripples are based on Ren’s code, the cyan applied to a shortcut, the white to folder’s bkg. So the only real animation is sliding in the panel with the apps. That’s all.
“Secret” is: finding the best values for choreography, like length of each transition and offset from previous one.
What also makes visually a biiig difference: curved animation instead of linear. The ripples start slowly, then accelerate (easing “in” on power of 4 curve), the panel slides in fast, then decelerates (easing “out”).

Benoît de Chezelles Google Design has good Best Practise advices here: http://www.google.com/design/spec/animation/authentic-motion.html#authentic-motion-mass-weight

I think I got the theory, I followed a lot material design tendance as soon as it was official, but how to make it happen, making timer, maths, circle, etc… I don’t know how to implemented it..

Animations is what this thing really needs to polish it off to perfection, without the scripting for the common users lol but that shit looks so cool man

Any update for the script?

Benoît de Chezelles Have some strange memory issues, am still trying to solve them. Looks like reusing “global” image instance is not properly disposed after animation finishes. No time on weekend, wilk continue on monday. Sorry!
