Pierre Hébert and others might be interested in th favorable bug you can see when i have th calander widget on screen.
i can a) swipe down to bring up th status bar and b) it is transparent, i asume it has something to do with th launcher…
th only setting i have ticked is hide th status bar
i do not have transparent status bar ticked
if i show/hide status bar with shortcut LL action it is not transparent
if i unhide status bar it is not transparent
if i enable transparent status bar it is not transparent
another one of those bugs you hope never gets fixed.

I am not 100%sure but this might not be a bug : most probably the system ui on kitkat tries to be clever and activate transparency as soon as the status bar is hidden.And this makes sense. Now why the status bar is not transparent when you activate the option probably result of this option being a manufacturer specific one (samsung) and clashes with standard android.
