Thought i would share some shots of my new TV Setup the 4 tiles that say Live TV don’t do anything yet well the first tile goes to live TV but the other 3 are just place holders until I decide what to map them to.
Its not possible to use Widgets, Custom Views, Pager Indicators, lightning actions, shortcuts and some other cool stuff so I was quite limited to what I could do. I think it turned out great though clean simple and lightning fast.
Ok im an idiot just realized the add item dialogs scrollable (maybe disable the scrollbar fade here so its easy to see the dialog scrolls) so I can use custom views page indicators, lightning actions and all that good stuff. I still cant use widgets but im guessing thats because theres no widget picker installed. Hopefully once I get a propper bluetooth mouse I can open the navdrawer in the script editor and run some cool scripts
Gotta Bluetooth mouse + keyboard and now I can open the navdrawer and run scripts I only tried a simple Hello World Dialog but it works great this is gunna be a game changer for sure!. TrianguloY could you or Lukas make the repository importer visible on TVs so it doesnt have to be sideloaded?
Make it available shouldn’t be very difficult, a specific intent in the main activity should work.
However there are requirements for a tv application such as big buttons, option to scroll with a keypad, no ‘finger required’ things, etc. Unfortunately the app fails in almost all of them, because this is not a tv app.
I don’t know if Google will say anything about a non-tv app set as a tv one. But as they normally act (ban) before ask, I prefer no to try.
What you are trying to do is using a non-tv app on a tv, so a sideload is somehow a requirement. (Adding that lightning is also a non-tv app)
