I now use Nova launcher, but I’m willing to try with this app. I need a few informations before buying the app:

1) does LL work with Tesla unread plugin? Can I have unread notifications count without installing any additional plugins or apps, using scripts? Are these scripts compatible with Pushbullet?

2) I use popup widget 2 to popup a widget swiping home button up. Can I popup a widget using only LL? no Popup widget 2?

3) will LL be listed on my running apps, or is it cached?

There will be a free trial version soon (you can test it as beta right now, follow this link https://play.google.com/apps/testing/net.pierrox.lightning_launcher)

Lightning won’t benefit of Tesla unread plugin but has its own badge feature (sms, gmail, missed calls)

Regarding popup widget, I don’t know, but in theory it should work. Somebody can probably give you more feedback on this.

What do you mean by “cached” ?

With LL you don’t need popup widget, as you can place a widget in a folder and open this folder with a swipe, but swipe up on home button have to be confirm (I have a Samsung so no home button)

More : you can customize as you want the folder and choose the place where it’s open (not only in the center of the screen)

You can do almost everything you can do with popup widget accept you will still need pw2 if u want widgets outside of the launcher over other apps… I use LL and pw2 and it’s a beautiful combination… Also you have swipes not jus up on the icons but down, left, right and anything you want… Like I make a popup lil pad I can swipe for all kinds of stuff… You won’t be disappointed jus take your time and ask.. Anything you wanna do can be done somehow

Yes you will need pw2 to swipe the home button outside of the launcher, but they are a great combination together and I believe eventually he’s going to add the ability to use Windows outside the launcher but that’s all you’ll need pw2 for

Swipes only work inside the launcher I believe, (on desktops or lockscreens) not on top of other launched apps. (correct me if I’m wrong)

In that case, I’ll stick with Nova. I’m going to stay in this community and wait for windows over any app

This is for sure, this is a highly customizable launcher.

Making gestures work in other apps is not lightning’s job, that would need to be operating system wide, same as dragging down opens the notification shade everywhere.

The PW widget should work, but most lightning users seem to use Zooper.

You can do an action on swipe up down left and/or right on anything so you may need to tweak some setting to get it right. I usually have icons do things on upswipe, the app drawer icon opens app settings when I upswipe, G+ opens a folder of most Google apps, etc.

Lightning works like any other launcher when it’s set to default. It won’t show in running applications.

yes, I agree with making gestures work in other apps is not launcher’s job.

I’ll get back to it as soon as get some free time, since there is so much to learn in using this app.

What do you all say why should this app be used and not Nova – it is also highly customizable, iz runs fluently etc, etc – why is LL better than Nova?

Nova is an amazing launcher too and it’s stability it the best out there… Lightning jus simply gives you more options to do whatever you want , but it does take a lil patients.. Well did for me lol
