Question about panel behaviour.

Question about panel behaviour.

When I tap inside a panel, whether it’s on an item or just its background, I see a ripple animation. This only happens in panels, AFAIK.

The question is – Is there some way to turn that animation off?

How about… Edit > misc > material effect mask. Turn this off.

Go to edit mode in the container that have the panel as item.

Long click the panel item, properties, and set the selected box content color to transparent

Josh Horner Can’t find the material effect mask anywhere.

TrianguloY The box content is already transparent.

The panel as item? (NOT the panel as container)

The selected state? (NOT the normal state)

TrianguloY E-gad.  The new editor has been confused*.  Could you walk me through the clicks to get there?

    * Not that I’m against the new editor. Indeed, I like it. But I was very used to the old one, and need more time to adapt.

Go to the container that have the panel, I guess it is the desktop, and long tap on his background (not the background of the panel)

Click the brush button in the bars to open the editor, it should say ‘desktop 0000’ or similar.

Now click the panel, it will be selected and the editor now should say ‘panel xxxxxx’

Navigate to the box tab (swiping or clicking the current one)

Click the content part of the box

Look for the selected state under it, it should be non-0, so simply set it to 0

If you still have question just ask 🙂

TrianguloY Hmm. I’ve followed your instructions to the letter.  In the “box” edit panel I only see the alignment options, bg image, the box element selector area, and finally, the size and color of selected areas.  I do not see selected state.

    Dunno what I’m doing wrong.

    You sold have

    [Box]

    Size of selected areas

    Normal color

    Selected color

    Focused color

Yes, instead of ‘selected state’ I should have said ‘selected color’, sorry

TrianguloY Ah, no worries. I just tried that, and the content/padding color is already set to 00000000 (zero alpha). I still see the droplet animation.

That’s strange. Could you upload a video showing it? (if not, maybe a screenshot)

TrianguloY Also, I don’t see the option of normal/selected/focused color. That’s what I remember from the old editor.  Now I only see selected color as an option.

I understand what you’re saying now, though. Now that I know what I’m looking for, I’ll try again to find it. 🙂

Wait, what if you change the selection effect to plain? (In the Misc tab)

TrianguloY If I edit the desktop, then select the panel, then edit it (paintbrush), then go to misc, I only see ‘set name’, ‘pin mode’, ‘rotation’ and ‘transparency.’  I see nothing about selection effect.

    Expert mode?

    SO OBVIOUS!

    And I didn’t thought of that 🙁

I always forget that setting exist, because I never disable it.

Anyway I’ll try to remember it for next problems, thanks for telling me.

    (Arg, it was so obvious…)

TrianguloY [shrug], it’s ok.  I’m pretty sure that setting wasn’t even there 1 or 2 versions ago.  Anyways, live and learn.  Thanks for all your help anyways.
