Is it possible to have a folder with NO SHORTCUT ICON?
I know the icon can be invisible (a hidden hotspot), but I want NO LL SHORTCUT to open the folder, as the folder will be opened by a touch action in a KWGT widget, so I don’t need any direct LL shortcut.
Is this possible, and if so, how?

You may use an “Open folder” action.

Pierre Hébert, thank you for your response, but I must have been unclear.
I have the widget triggering the “open folder” action, flawlessly. I’m trying to eliminate or completely remove (not make invisible) the native shortcut icon in LL, from the desktop.
I hope this clarifies my issue. (I’m finding it tricky to explain.)

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. It is not possible to remove the shortcut item because it contains some data for the folder. Internally the Folder item inherits from the classic Shortcut (for the label and icon). Hence what you see as a shortcut is in fact a folder. The Folder extends the Shortcut with additional data, namely the window settings. These window settings are not part of the container itself, so that the same folder content can be opened in distinct windows. As a consequence the window settings are stored in the folder item and it is required to open the container.

Understood. Thank you.
I guess the best I can do, then, is hide the unwanted ones, someplace out of the way. 👍

I dont get it what difference does it make if its invisible or completely removed? Im quite sure it is actually removed if you hide it. Anyways you can turn off touches on the shortcut so it wont even highlight or do anything when pressed then you can trigger it however you want.

By the way… I’m still not scripting in LL, but I’m thoroughly loving the flexibility offered by the folder windows. They are SO MUCH more flexible than the ‘overlays’ in KLWP.
I have a VERY clean, minimalistic-looking, single desktop and everything opens/closes neatly, on demand.

You can move the folder anywhere else, including other desktops and other containers.
For example you can create a desktop for all those folders (if you have a lot). Another solution is to move it to the user menu (the orange pop-up when sliding up, that is in fact a folder)

What I do with folders :
I put then outside the main page, and I pin it horizontally & vertically, so I’ll never see it in normal mode, I see it only when I’m in edit mode if needed..
