How does one do a complete restore?

How does one do a complete restore? I did a backup as well as template export, then tried both the restore (backup) and import (template ) but neither restored widgets properly. Even after granting permission, I had to reset all widgets, even size related settings that ate 100% LL settings.

Sizing is on the backup. Never had this issue, some screenrecording possible from you ?

Widgets have to be registered in Android. It is somewhat normal that they can’t be restored.

It does put the widgets in the right spot, and approximately the right overall size, but the scaling is off (within the overall size) which was done with LL.

So it is impossible to completely restore all settings including all widgets after a clean flash or new phone? What about a backup app? I tired Mybackup pro but didn’t do any better.

Here are two shots. You can see at first it says “couldn’t find widget” , then when i tap on it and give it permission, the green evernote (in the middle) is blank (even though I’m signed into evernote) and the Google play music widget is the wrong scale I can tell.

I know in the the top calendar widget I wasn’t signed into my calendar, but even after I was , it also didn’t restore the settings…

    Thanks for looking!

After a clean flash you have to reinstall first the widget apps. Was it done ?

Permission is due to M I think

And no need to be in the app for receiving widget update
