I need to do a factory reset on my Samsung GS3 to hopefully fix my messaging problems (receive duplicates and no notifications.) Will my lightening launcher still be intact if I have it stored on my external sd card?

I’ve done this lots of times. In theory, the external sdcard shouldn’t be affected by the factory reset. But ever since the time the factory reset somehow blew away my sdcard’s partition & I had to re-format it, I remove the card before I do the reset.
If you backup (lightning settings/All settings/backup and restore…) before you remove the card, all your settings will be saved in the sdcard/Lighting Launcher directory. After the factory re-set, re-insert the card, re-install the launcher, then restore the backup and you’re back to what you had before.
