Pierre Hébert urgent issue.!

I just make own template with APK via AIDE app.

My head unit is 1024*600, once I install APK other resolution(eg phone; 1024*720 or higher device) arrangement of ICONS and wallpaper has distortion.

In LL, there is not auto scaling with streatch?

Chris LEE please do not double post. Plus, your issue is not urgent. It is a known limitation of templates. You could ask gerd reuter how he keeps his themes scalable, but you have to respect that pierre can’t spend his life in this community.

Chris LEE I answered your question in your other post.

    There is no “stretch”.

    Just adjust it accordingly.

    hi chris.

i use for development 1920×1080, create an apk and test it mostly on 2560×1440, with no issues.

but resolution is the “same” in relation.

    not in your case.

i know that LL uses exact pixelwise positions for bookmarks. i guess it is the same when items are detached from grid.

if LL would use always internally the same resolution e.g. 1280×720 (or relative to this) it should work. zooper and klwp do it this way or similar.

for bookmarks i use my own scripts which work on any resolution, and i never (ok let’s say 99%) detach from grid.

makes sense when you want always the relative “same” position.

wallpaper might be the same problem.

please respect that this “issue” might be urgent for chris.

gerd reuter Thanks for your answer! Key point is, “do not detach from grid”…. But detach can control fine edit, fine moving and free form size…

Chris LEE when it’s for personal use on one device or multiple devices with same resolution it works.

if you want to share for free it’s also ok, because it’s free.

or if positioning is set by script, where you can calculate it.

    otherwise you should avoid it.

My guess is that distortion occurs because of head units are usually landscape and phone portrait ?

Lightning does scaling when using templates (not backups). There can’t be fully automated scaling as soon as screen ratios are different.

Pierre Hébert I already set orientation to landscape before install template. But phenomenon still like before. Is there relation detach from grid?

When scaling from 1024 to 1024 this is a 1:1 ratio, but when scaling from 720 to 600 the scale value is different, this is an inevitable issue. On one hand some metrics can be stretched (such as size of grid cells), on the other hands you certainly don’t want to stretch some other (icons need to remain square). The effect is that things can get unaligned quickly.

Also status bar and navigation bar may not have the same size, nor the same position… For instance phones in landscape may have the navigation bar at the left while a tablet may have its nav bar at the bottom, or no navbar at all, but what matters is the space between these bars, as a consequence the final exact ratios may even be different.

Manual tuning is a requirement in most cases.

gerd reuter I’ve build APK with your advice, thanks…If I want to embed some icons, user can changeable logo as their favorite. Where can I place icons and modify AndroidManifest.xml

As I see we can find and change in app(as we made) under LL(that’s a good idea)
