Hello Everybody, I am back to work!
Hello Everybody, I am back to work!
First goal: release the current beta as stable. Then I’ll start to process other non beta specific bugs and feature requests.
Because I have been offline for a while, I lost track of the exact status of the current beta. I am going to review my personal notes and have a look at the g+ history (although I won’t dig very far in it), but help of the beta testers would help me too 🙂 Fellow Lightning Users, do you have major bugs to mention regarding the beta?

welcome back Pierre Hébert

Welcome

Pierre Hébert I found a lot of minor bugs while I was working on my template, but the most absurd occurred on Samsung devices…
In my template the position inside of all container is generally changed by scripts.
On other devices like my OnePlus, Huaweys, HTCs or any other device with AOSP or custom ROM AOSP based the scripts working perfectly.
On the most recent Samsung devices (galaxy S6, galaxy Note4 and so on) works everything except the change of position in containers by using scripts.
If you want, I can give you videos that shows the strange behavior and my template obviously xD

A few minor things, creating a shortcut to Lightning settings opens up the setting screen but any selection after that returns to homescreen. I may remember more in due course.. 😄
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Simone Boccuzzi yes please, I may be able to test this on a Samsung device

Welcome back ✋
Pause/Resume event and isOpen changed behaviour which makes detection of open/close impossible (no working workaround found). Request: open/close events.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Lutz Linke I was looking at this right at the moment. I found a way to invert the order of these events. It should fix the issue.

お帰りなさい。
welcome back.

< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert this is good news 🙂 welcome back
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert I sent you the backup file by e-mail, all you have to know about it is in there.
Do you still need videos?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
welcome back 🙂
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Welcome indeed! Awesome to have you back 🙂
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Simone Boccuzzi no video needed, your instructions and the backup should be enough, thanks
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert Later I’ll report other bugs and some useful suggestion 😉
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert Have you thought about setting up a ticket system somewhere? It would make it way easier to manage bug reports and feature suggestions. And I think we have enough motivated people here who could help you by labelling, categorizing etc.
I know the system of Github is pretty good, but there are probably more free options out there.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
It would be easier for users, but I don’t think that someone else but me can process them. Usually I keep a list with links to g+ posts, with some rough category and priority order. This way of handling bugs/requests could indeed be improved by using a ticketing system although I am still the bottleneck to handle them.

Lastest beta still crashing when time change on my HTC. Workaround with disable automatic time update along GSM network fix this issue, but will be better to fix it in LL, thx! 🙂
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Having the issue when going back from Android settings screen via home button I get always asked if lightning should bre the standard launcher app although I selected “always” before. Pretty annyoing. Deleting cache doesn’t help. Wasnt like that in the past. Hope this can be fixed (if due to a glitch in LL and not in the Sony z3)

its not in beta but latest stable version. I created dock with icons and folders. Applied icon pack to desktop and dock. Desktop folders and icons keep their style but panel folders and icons not, after screen lock and unlock or reboot icons are standard look without iconpack or mask/overlay. Occurs on S4 Active 5.0.1 Lolipop

< ![CDATA[
Hey Pierre Hébert! So glad to have you back! The only bug I’ve noticed, sometimes when “x”ing out an item’s background image, (such as removing a nine patch drawable), the desktop wallpaper will revert to the system wallpaper. Sometimes it will reset itself, but sometimes it has to be manually reset. Not a big deal since normally I am replacing them with another image, but I thought I should let you know. Everything else seems to run and function smoothly. In fact, I think overall the last beta release is a fantastic build.

Pierre Hébert, app drawer app list delay, I post the detail in my email: “Lightning Launcher Drawer Performance”
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert this isn’t a new bug but the material effect on touch does not appear when there is an opaque panel or item underneath the item being touched
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Jaroslav Grochal I will fully disable this time zone change handling. The current behavior isn’t satisfying and I’ll have to find a better way to react to this event.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Karsten Franke preferred apps are fully managed outside of the apps. I am afraid I can’t help on this.
Ewa K this is hard to reproduce, could you share your setup or maybe a single desktop as a template, that would allow me to reproduce the issue?
Thank you Thomas Greer! I believe the issue is not related with the item background change itself, but by the return to the home screen from the image picker screen. Am I wrong to think the issue might happen in other situations too ?
Abednego JS does it appear after a fresh install too ?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Wern-Yuen Tan IIRC this only happens when the mask option is disabled, right ?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert yes, correct
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert I’d say you are probably correct! I haven’t seen the behavior anywhere else on my device, but I thought it might be a small clue for one of the bugs you are working on. 😉
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert little delay for page dots but not like when I have my configuration on it, btw email updated.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Main issue I’m seeing is trying to select the option to add+ new desktops causes a crash more often than not.
]]>

Disable hardware acceleration doesn’t solve blurred/smoothed text when desktop scale bigger than 1 (e.g. 5 in my case)
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Karsten Franke Strange, it works for me. Could it be that the text item is itself in a panel ? In which case you need to disable hw acceleration on the panel too (and any other intermediate container).
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert that did the trick. Sharp text is back again. Many thanks. Is there a way to set hardware acceleration via LL api? Would be nice if possible, at least in the future.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Yes, using i.hardwareAccelerated. I am sorry the documentation wasn’t up to date. Fixed it just now.
