Doesn’t the UP button work? Or the X button… Did you try that?

    That seems like a bug!

I can confirm it, (and somehow I made the launcher crash…oops).

After the crash it was opened again on the previous folder so it was ‘fixed’ for me.

Was there a recent app update that caused this?

It’s always been like this there was a workaround posted here but I can’t find it.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. And does it work for you?

I’m starting to suspect this is another ‘Oreo feature’

TrianguloY I think it is too. I tried to do it and even then there were a bunch of folders.

Jay M Did you try switching to another set (application for instance)? I’m trying something here and can’t seem to replicate it at all

Ok. I clicked storage/emulated and now even i see the issue. I know there are a bunch of folders there, yet It’s not showing any of them there.

The folders that you mentioned, I think, are shadow system folders that Android 7 upwards use for special functions. You can access them but they will be empty with no files in them. Each of those folders has a reserved size of about 840mb but you cant use them

That’s why they show an empty folder inside and resetting or re-installing won’t correct it. Use a file manager program to to point it back to the real storage/emulater folders and your files show up. The only file manager program that can do this is ( Ghost Commander) which I’ve used for years. Cheers.

Angelo Demac I’m talking about the /storage/emulated/0 Folder. It’s not the system as every other app can read and write to it. Unless I’m missing something

Sorry, I should have explained more. Yes, I’m talking about the same system folder which shows up with same name that you mentioned (storage/emulator/0. If you go too high up into the root folder with the up button it then goes to a special area in system which shows the same names.

If you do a check of the size of those folders they will only be about 840MB it so and not the real storage size of your real emulated or your SD external card. But yet they will show exactly the same names. Hard to explain. Would have to do a video if it or some snap shots to illustrate this.

Angelo Demac It’s kinda difficult to follow. Thankfully for me that directory is the only one i have a problem with. Other than that, I’m fine. It’s not a big deal anyway as i almost never play with it
