Widgets…

I have two problems, positioning and resizing.

1 Positioning.

I seem to always end up having to move them after adding them. How do I control that already when adding them?

2 Resizing

If I resize, the content also resizes (unlike icons for apps). Is there a way to keep the size?

Happens e.g. when adding a Zooper widget that doesn’t fill my selected size (add Zooper 4×2, chosen content might be 2×2, not always ckear in Zooper what the original size is – resing it to 2×2 makes content 1×1 or something).

Hum… positioning issue is probably due to the size of the widget not being the expected one : in order to center the widget, the launcher need to know its size in order to move it a bit left/top, I think the issue is here. Also when the number of cells is even, it cannot be centered under the touched cell, so I guess it adds a shift too.

Resizing is the widget policy. Some resize themselves, some don’t, some change their layout. In the case of Zooper you need to act on the widget layout itself.

Under Customize lightning (preferences)>current desktop>Behavior >Layout- toggle Detach by Default, every item you add while that is toggled will be detached from grid from the get go. Otherwise, after adding you have to select the item > position > Detach from grid. Also, adding an item from Menu>Edit layout>then long press where you want to add helps in the sense that you don’t back out of the process and then have to long press the item.
