When you select material effect with the material effect mask disabled (which I like so much) it is not displayed in the app drawer and in folders.
Well, not exactly. Not sure about the app drawer, but in folders it is displayed behind them!
See screenshot (enabled vs disabled)

Yes, this is really weird. Those ripples are hardware accelerated and I don’t know why but something is definitely broken here.

By the way, what was the issue with the material effect and the scrolling panels ? I can’t reproduce this, I think I misunderstood something 🙁

I was trying to make a video, but I can’t because it crash.
Try this:
Add a panel
Set the selection effect to material
Change the color background of the selected state to white (this is when it crash)
Now, at least with a panel I had, when you scroll the panel the effect is shown, and seems a bit strange. I can send a video of the behavior (but not of the steps)

Ok, thanks, I will have a look at this. I just published a bug fix only update, it seems the crash is fixed but I can’t be sure since I didn’t tried these steps with the previous beta.

Yes, that’s the problem.
However, now I think it is not a problem exactly. It is displaying the effect because I tell him to display it (changing the color of the panel to white)
I see that when a new panel is added that color is set to transparent automatically.
Now I think you should keep this. Maybe someone want that behavior for some reason

Ok, I see. In fact this is the same for widgets. All items share the same generic background handling but this is not great for panels and widgets, hence the transparent color set upon item creation. I thought this way the default behavior would be ok but the settings would still allow to set a color, in case it would be useful.
