The layout keeps getting messed up slightly too I just noticed on this screenshot.. The bottom row of icons look like they are getting pushed upwards slightly as though the option to overlap icons with navigation bar is not enabled

As far as I can see, I wouldn’t say that the status bar loses its transparency, but that it is drawn. Could it be that something else is overwriting the system bars settings in the background?

Could it be that some kind of popup or transparent window is launched over the launcher ? This is has if Android was using another set of parameters.

Oh! Maybe it has to do with Layers? but when I revert back to 12.0.1 (r2021) I do not get this issue

Strange, I don’t remember having changed anything related to system bars since v12.0.1. What do you mean by layers?

I sent you a link to the community, but it is similar to CM12 Theme Engine

I’m using the exact same layers on 12.0.1. As I did with the latest LL release, I haven’t changed any Layers at all and there are no issues..

if the problem cannot be reproduced on demand, then maybe it is triggered by some border effect, not the bars handling itself. Maybe try to disable Layers to see how it behaves?

Sure, I can disable Layers, just to make you aware also that the status bar should not be present at all as it is disabled in LL settings, I’m currently on 12.0.1 but I’ll update and investigate further see if I can reproduce..

Chris Chastain is this similar to your issue? TrianguloY

Very similar, yes. Status bar should be hidden, shown on tap. Everything gets shifted down by height of bar when it gets locked…but in my case wallpaper reverts also.

I have transparent status and nav bar with content overlap both shown, and I never had any problems (except once recently in which the bars become black as if the content overlap were disabled, but I think it was messed by another app. Not really sure but as I said it happened only once)

OMG! I think I understand what the issue is. This is mostly unrelated but indeed there was a change between 12.0.1 and 12.1 that could well explain this behavior.

Thank you all for your hints, all these details helped me to catch the bug!
