Yes this happens every time. Just press home or back button and the bar will disappear.

    I have the same problem.

Really? I don’t have that issue. Maybe I found the one advantage of still being stuck on a gingerbread ROM.

    Edit: that means Android 2.3.7

I’d love an answer to this one. I’m running 4.1.2 on a Galaxy S3, and my home screen defaults to status bar showing. A hundred times a day I have to tell it to go away. Ideally, it would default to NOT showing.

    I’m running 4.2.1on a XperiaZ.

When I used LL, this not happened. I don’t have any Jesters in the Setup.

I can confirm the same issue on galaxy note 2 & 3 both 4.2+

I always had this issue. Never reported it because it didn’t bothered me more than that and I suspect it to be more of an android behaviour limitation than an LL issue. The main impact is if you have a screen with tightly adjusted widgets, it can ruin the aspect when the bar appear as all widgets get resized (some of gerd reuter layouts gets really messed up by resize). But since the bar disappear if you press home, return or double tapping the screen. It’s not overly catastrophic.

But as for solving it and preventing it to happen, I have no idea. I lived with it :)

Also the bar reappear as soon as you are «within an app» this is not an issue for apps that run full screen. But with some widget, the bar reappear when you interact with them.

Small addition from a test I ran 5 minutes ago.

I was using a layout with status bar. I tried to hide it and it worked fine. Seems 4.3 corrected the issue for Samsung ROM.

Interesting again, and might be a bug from last beta. When unlocking lockscreen (LLx lock screen) the status bar does not hide. Even while all other occurrences seems to be solved in 4.3

In fact even if the bar is hidden on lock screen it pop-up when unlocking.

That might be a LL lock screen bug Pierre Hébert

It seems related to the Android version+manufacturer indeed., but I have no valid explanation for this. I don’t use this option myself so I may have missed something though.

    Hello,

it’s seems to be the action, Show/hide app menu and status bar, causing the problem. It doesn’t matter where or when it is executed in your set up/layout (item or gesture). This action supercedes Hide Status Bar regardless of the desktop. You have to execute that Action again to hide status bar (which is its intended purpose, to show/hide status bar and app menu) . Which is why pressing back or menu again fixes it for some ppl. Change the action to Launcher Menu. Problem solved, at least on LGOG running 4.1.2

Just tested something. Added shortcut to show/hide status bar. Toggled it and status bar shows. Deleted shortcut and status bar wouldn’t disappear. Until that action was recreated and toggled. Powerful stuff. What is meant by App menu for that action. Lightning app menu or a toggled App’s menu.
