Pierre, is there any chance that the icon pack application problems will be addressed?
Pierre, is there any chance that the icon pack application problems will be addressed? It’s been reported several times and made an appearance in many threads. Icons with masks are not being applied correctly resulting in massive scaling issues. Sometimes they can be corrected by manually adjusting the inner/outer scaling, but many times they can’t. Icon packs are s a basic launcher feature and this has been an extraordinarily obnoxious problem for as long as LL has been around.

Unfortunately icon packs are not basic…And since half of them do not follow the specification there are tons of quirks everywhere to get the stupid thing to work. Is the following post related?

What works fot me is applying the icon pack twice.

Sergio Azar yes, that’s also my finding. Apply twice and you’re good.

I jus recently realized that applying icons is more complicated than I thought for sure.. There are a bunch of different ways and different launchers do it differently which means devs have to make the pack as versatile as they can…at least with lightning you can actually eventually make any pack work it jus might take a lil time and extra work but it is well worth it and have the default reset option Is a big help

There are some icon packs that just refuse to conform on LL. I just don’t understand why this is the only launcher that can’t do it. It’s brilliant at every other thing but this is one of the bedrock features of a replacement launcher.

If you have specific issues with icon packs (other than the inner scale, since I believe it will behave better in the beta and the next release) please post a new bug so that I can keep track of it.

Pierre-yeah thats the scaling issue I’m referring to.
Sorry, I didn’t mean that implementing icon pack application is basic–just that proper application of icon packs is a foundation feature of replacement launchers. I’m not trying to belittle LL. it’s my favorite launcher. It’s just extremely frustrating that it can do so many things but can’t do the one thing that every other launcher gets done.
I’ll try the apply twice method.

No problem, I understand. This is true that this is a weakness of this launcher

Applying twice seems to fix mine

Thanks for taking a look Pierre 🙂

Don’t have time to test atm but if applying twice works it might not be that hard to fix, just run the icon pack script/function twice every time by defualt

If it’s a product of a gridless layout/extreme scalability, you might want to reach out to the SSLauncher dev and see what he does. SS is probably the closest to LL in implementation and iirc its able to apply icon packs consistently.
