I cant install the latest update.
I cant install the latest update.
In the playstore i get an error message.
“Update for “lightning Launcher” “could net be downloaded due to an error. (961)”
i know i have to empty the cache and try again. But what data is actually stored in the cache for lightning. that’s just out of curiosity .
is there something in the update that gives a conflict or something?
thought you should know 🙂

You need to clear the cache (and maybe data too) of the Google play app, not lightning

If I’m not mistaken, I do believe cache is only stuff like thumbnails, temp files, and stuff like that used to speed up the app so it doesn’t preload everytime. You won’t lose any kind of data you saved or anything on your setup, but he’s right I don’t think that would make a difference but the play store and /or play services cache or especially data will most likely help.. I’d Google the error code also

I did googled it, that’s how i knew i had to clear the cache, but it didn’t said what it was causing. But clearing the play store’s cache did the trick. so thank you very much 🙂
