Almost the most expensive app ever!
Dynamic Text Time Failing To Update.
Just arrived at Malaga airport and almost missed the flight because the Dynamic Text does not update when you change time zone!
Scenario:-
In UK and dynamic text time on my lockscreen is aligned with the time on my phone. All ok.
Turn phone off, get on plane and fly to Spain.
Turn on phone at destination.
Actual time on phone is auto updated to Spanish time, but the Dynamic Text still remains at UK time. So at this point the dynamic text is now an hour behind. I never realise this as I have the status bar hidden.
It looks to me like the dynamic text is updated the instance the phone is turned on, in the new time zone, BEFORE the phone has picked up the roaming network and re-set the actual android phone time.
Exactly the same happened when I returned home – got off the plane in the UK and it was now an hour in front, showing Spanish time.
Any ideas ? If it wasn’t for my persuasion this would have cost me an extra 130 Euros..

130 euros? isnt that like 147 dollars in usd? i found an app a few months back priced at literally 500 dollars and the only purpose it serves is to brag about how the buyer wasted the money just for the sake of having the most expensive app in the store haha

The app is probably using the timezone at time of its creation and not updating it until the next restart. Anyway I hope the weather was fine in Spain 😉

Pierre Hébert is there a way, through scripting, to trigger an update of dynamic text when the system time zone changes?

Carolyn Boyle no, and it should probably be automatic, or set through an option in the dynamic text.
I would gladly flight to Malaga to test a time zone change, but I think I am actually in the same time zone… I could instead cross the channel to go to UK but as I prefer the sun over the rain I will have to select another destination 😉 Maybe Florida.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. Pierre Hébert definitely California over Florida… Unless you like humidity so thick that you can swim through it and flying palmetto bugs (their quaint name for giant cockroaches) the size of birds…shudder (the Chamber of Commerce leaves that detail out of the tourist brochures. ) Of course if you come to California, you might want to bring your own drinking water, because we’re having the worst drought in recorded history … :-D

Pierre Hébert do you mean that it’s not possible within the app is it currently stands? Or that it’s not possible at all? Is this now a feature request?

yes we are Carolyn Boyle… that is unless you go to a beach lmao

Carolyn Boyle this is possible to add a new option so that the displayed date uses the current time zone, not the one detected at time of the dynamic text startup.
