By default I find it hard to identify apps in a folder because of the apps behind the folder disturbs. (As in attached picture).

Unfortunately there seems to be a bug for adjusting folder background to color and/or transparency.

    Folder settings, current folder window, select ‘content’, choose a color.


    It works for me. I guess you are changing the color for something else (or maybe there is an error, but make sure you followed the steps above)
