I’ve noticed in the app drawer, but I can’t say if it happens to those on the home screen, as I haven’t got any on there. I recently updated 3, and all ended up with duplicates.
I have all the apps in folders in the app drawer, but I did have duplicates prior to that as well

Daniel F. ‘s suggestion would likely work as well but you may want to try simply forcing the launcher to close and clearing its cache via the app menu in settings.
