m is not defined
m is not defined
I’ve got a feedback which is about my Windwos 7 LLx template.
When user press START button in the bottom-right(see pic.) which is a LL folder in panel(statubs bar), sometimes that button was not responding and show error message, “m is not defined…”
Wierd thing is that in my script(z.alogblog…statButton)’s Line 2 and whole lines, there is no “m” object.
Probably “m” is LL’s inner Java or Javascipt object? If so, why did that problem rise?

KyungJoon Lee i was getting errors like that when i first got your theme from the playstore. i thought it was because i tried to swap the date with the start button (im still trying).
]]>
< ![CDATA[
This is weird indeed, m is not an inner variable neither. Are you able to find a reproducible way to trigger this bug ?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
i dont know if i can trigger this bug but there are others that come up. just try to swap the date and start buttons for one error, use a toshiba at300 tablet for another. or does that one work with any jellybean running the loader?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Curtis Sylvester Jr.The screenshot’s from my jelly bean phone. Usually what happens when I tap on the start button is, absolutely nothing at all. Having a hard time reproducing the error, and it doesn’t happen at all on my gingerbread device. KyungJoon Lee do you have any kind of a map of the template? I’d like to track down exactly what is supposed to be happening with folders scripts etc.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
well Carolyn Boyle thats just one bug. then theres 1 where every 5 minutes there will be a toast that says something about ll loading screen or something and then the script settings you placed are reset.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Curtis Sylvester Jr. I only get the toast when first loading that template. Do you have llx set to be always in memory?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
in which way? i have to use the launcher loader because my device is too fucking stupid to just remember llx as the default. unless theres a fix for that
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Curtis Sylvester Jr. I meant Settings/General/Keep Lightning in memory, because the toast message you keep getting over and over again is triggered by the loading event.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert, I think this just became a bug report: I cleared data, reloaded KyungJoon Lee’s template, then replaced it with a backup that had no scripts. After that I turned on scripts in the settings , and there’s a piece of script from the replaced template showing up in the menu.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Carolyn Boyle i see the option to keep llx running and its been checked. which means if llx still quits then at this point theres got to be a bug with that setting.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
possibly. but i did notice that the launcher take a bit to get me back to my home screen too. like it has to reopen llx and its mad at me for it. i also noticed that configuring desktops takes a bit to get the menu as well.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Curtis Sylvester Jr. The launcher loader worked better for me when I turned off the option to keep lightning in memory. What you’re seeing might be due to lightning and the launcher loader fighting for control of your home button.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
wait what? thats something i didnt think of. ill try that and get back to you. “turn off that option” ok will do

Carolyn Boyle

I’ve just wrote nearly all templates role and some explanations.
Basically, my scripts work is simple :(. Save START popup folders size/location in cache, and reuse these on setting by API in each mode.
I’m good and a little embarrassed with your Curtis Sylvester Jr. and Carolyn Boyle feedbacks.
If I were you, I would delete template and use another. lol. I might not pour some energy for adjusting it.
It was exactly my expectation when I uploaded it to store. If users meet some error, then they will uninstall it.
So your detailed feeback made me embarrassed. 🙂
Anyway, once I uploaded and shared template, I will do my best as I can.
However, please understand me my ability is not good as Pierre. 🙂

KyungJoon Lee my intentions were not to embarrass you just merely pinpoint the cause of some recent bugs while using the template. i love the way it looks almost like i have a windows 7 tablet. the only difference is that in usa the start button is on the left not the right. either way your theme works so ill leave the start button on the right.
now if i can find out why every 5 minutes it toast the theme is loading llx. so far Carolyn Boyle may have fixed that problem when she instructed me to uncheck the setting in general. i think that problem occured when hitting the back button from another app to go home. the bugs we see may not even be fault of your theme but rather a fault in llx or in my case either my os or my device being a piece of shit. i got suckered into buying this over a gpx which isnt so bad considering not one person uses a gpx android device. i have not seen anything on the internet from people about it so compared to gpx i got a better device, but still a piece of shit.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. You can locate and use startbuton on the left.
The reason that moving to the left is not working, is that current setCell() API didn’t work in unkown reason. So manually switching two items will still work.
Switch two items in both modes manually, and run arrageTemplate (select ‘Cancel’ for left)script. Then its subfolders also will be open in left.

in here, swipe up/down scripts was updated to v1.1. Copy and replace with v1.0.

KyungJoon Lee i never intended to criticize or embarrass. If I didn’t think your template was good, I would definitely uninstall it. But it is so incredibly good that it is definitely worth putting some effort into getting it working as intended. And thanks for the documentation I’ll take a look at it. Hopefully this feedback will help to identify what’s going wrong for us so that if anything needs to be changed in your template it can be corrected and get an update out there soon.
But I’m actually convinced this is probably a lightning bug. As I said previously, I think Pierre Hébert needs to look at why script remnants are hanging around after a template is replaced.
Keep up the good work, I really like what you’ve done with this. Please keep creating them.
As far as your skills, they are very impressive. And as far as being as good as Pierre Hébert, well, I doubt that many people are in that class … And he’s been known to generate a bug or two as well. 😛
With the variety of devices and modifications out there, the only apps that don’t occasionally have bugs are the ones that don’t do anything.
Great thing about Android, is the unlimited ability to customize. The bad thing about Android is the unlimited ability to customize …

Carolyn Boyle i found the cause of that loading toast. its in the loader itself not keeping llx as the default when i press back button. it just takes me to the loader menu where i would go on first install to set llx as its default

Curtis’s Korean comments lol. Af first I doubted I had pressed “Translate” button and searched “To original(?)” button. kikiki
My english expression “embarrassed” might be not suitable.
Nearly one year before, I uploaded 3 apps for studying Android programming. It was all about Tasker plugin app.
I received no feedback at all during 1 year lol.
However I received your feedbacks within 1 or 2 days, and those are so detail.
I was suprised or startled…idk exact English expression. 🙁

KyungJoon Lee i hope google translated what i was saying

Hummm…
I think I found some parts of the explanation.
Line #2 is a blank line.
When mixing end of line encodings, windows end of lines (cr/lf) may appear as “^M” when using editors with end of lines set to lf only.
Could if be that you wrote the script on the PC, and then this ‘”m” is not defined is linked’ with the “^M” ?
What I don’t understand is why it would sometimes work, and not always fails, so the problem may be very different after all.
Carolyn Boyle are you sure that the backup didn’t contains scripts, because in theory the full ll directory is wiped when doing a restore ?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Yes I used the PC editor for scripting, and dos mode.
From the screencapture, I think Carolyn Boyle installed it from playstore.
Then Line#2 is the dobule slash comment.
// v.1.0
Old script in template I uploaded in Dropbox has blank line in #2.
During creating scripts, I saw many error messages like ‘net.pierrox.lightning_launcher.c.a.d’. So at first, I thought m is from Java wrapping(?) objects. But I’m also not sure…

Pierre Hébert If there are scripts in the backup, i didn’t put them there intentionally. Previously I posted a link to a copy of one that generated the error. If you still have it take a look and let me know if you find any scripts.
