Have you set “Screen Orientation” to “Sensor” and turned automatic screen orientation off in android settings?

To explain my question: the accelerometer can be used to compute the device orientation

it uses this to calculate if you rotated your screen or not just in case you have action-events on rotate or in case you have set your homescreen to rotate accordingly. without access to the accelerometer there would be no way llx can give you the desired action if these events were in place, meaning nothing would happen and then you would instead be filling out a bug report saying it dont work. of course that still doesnt explain your battery usage. last time i checked i was lucky if llx used 4% and thats rare.

Battery usage is not correlated with accelerometers (indeed, used indirectly for orientation and rotation), but more with the use you made of the launcher (for instance if you spend some time on configuring your setup) and most importantly with widgets.

Thanks all for the replies. I am aware why accelerometer is used. I kept orientation to system default in llx and had my screen rotation turned of in android settings. Now since it was turned off, I was curious why llx was polling it up. I understand I should have made question clearer. However as Pierre Hébert mentioned I did spend some time in configuring my setup, lot of time in Zooper Widgets configurations. Anyway if it happens again. I will try to zero in on the cause.

What’s this app you are using. I’d like to look through my apps.
