Good idea!
Or, if it will be very ‘heavy’, let the user choose one.

I think letting the users choose their own font is way “heavier” than simply setting it to the monospace font which is included in Android.

Gábor Barta is it included? 😀 (forget my suggestion)

TrianguloY Just look into the /system/fonts folder on your device. DroidSansMono is most surely included.

TrianguloY Actually… since you can choose fonts in LL for item labels already, maybe an option to choose a font for the script editor too isn’t that “heavy”. However it’s not really important either. I think the builtin mono font will be far enough.

since we wanna go this route perhaps there should be font packs that we can download from the play store …. kinda like plugins that allow us to make our own fonts as well as lets us choose fonts. and share these fonts as apks too.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. I hate this kind of font distribution. You include more fonts in a font pack. What if you only want one of them? You still have to have the whole package installed, taking up space unnecessarily. Also there are already more than enough font pack sets spamming the Play Store, which can be used with only one app. Fonts are not specific things belonging to one app.
On another note however, what I would like to see in LL is font previews in the font selector/browser .

theres no reason we cant have both… for those who want packs can get packs, for those who want a specific font can get that font. the fonts dont have to be in the pack thats only for those who want the choice in options. i do believe i also mentioned a font creation. maybe one wishes to use their own writing as the font. and this is where the launcher plugin would come on. as far as the packs i got a few fonts that doesnt use just 1 app. as long as you know where the font you want is saved you can access it. im just throwing ideas out there since now were doing font requests. and personally i think its a benefit. i dont like the script editor but it dont mean i think any less of the app over it.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. Are you serious? You seriously would like Pierre to implement a font maker tool for LL, just because maybe someone would like to make and use a shitty font based on their handwriting? If you want to do that, download/buy a font creator software suite for you PC, and have your way.
Such a thing is most surely out of scope of a smartphone homescreen replacement application, no matter how customisable it is.
Going by that logic, why not include a full-fledged photoshop-like app, because after all you can use images in LL? What if someone would want to edit those, or create their own ones? Right?
I hope you see how unreasonable is that idea.
Scripting is a thing that is unique, and something that just made LL the most customizable launcher ever – if it wasn’t already that. Scripting totally makes sense in a customizable launcher. Content creation tools such an image editor, or font creator? Not really. We already have better tools for those on PC.

by the way not everyone has a pc so your argument is invalid AND if youre just gonna bash people for having ideas may i suggest not doing it here?
