A few months ago I asked whether it was possible if u could restrict the desktop items from entering the notification and navigation region in immersive mode. Will u be bringing it?

Pierre Hébert btw I’ve temporary done it using panels. Can it be done by adding a predefined unmodifiable panel?

Oh sorry! I didn’t mean immersive mode. I meant the transparent navigation and notification bar. My bad.

That’s what keeping me from using transparent bars, too. That area should be padded.
But technically, what about vertical scrolling? Should those areas show parts of the screens above and below? If the bars were just transparent (to show the wallpaper fire example) but the “viewport” stayed the same, vertical scrolling wouldn’t look good; the content would come “out of nowhere”. I don’t know what would be a perfect solution. It depends much on the content and design.
All I’d like an option to use padding, independently choosable for each bar.
