I’m not sure if this was ever in the launcher but I’ve recently had a use for it and it’s not there.

I’m talking about double tapping shortcuts and apps. when I go into customization options I see alot of options (press, long press, swipe, resume, pause, tap) but no double tap.

the reason I’m asking is because I wanted to have the app open on a single tap but open the folder with its widget in it on a double tap. perhaps there’s a reason it hasn’t been added into the list but it would be cool.

oh cool I didn’t see that in the wiki… my only problem is getting the double tap part set to open a specific folder. I’ll start there

Double tap is disabled because of the lag it creates: when you want to detect a double tap, you need to wait a bit after the first tap, in case a second tap comes within a given time frame. This short delay means the launcher has to wait before to start the action for a single tap, and this is annoying.

Dynamically waiting a bit or not based on whether a double tap action is configured or not is difficult and I didn’t implemented it.

ah ok that sounds fair. the script from Lukas Morawietz could help if I could just figure out how to put the script to the folder. once I figure that out I can set it up so a few other shortcuts do the same with their respective double tap actions.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. I do the exact same thing with apps & folders, but I always use long press to trigger the folder opening.

Carolyn Boyle that was originally what I did but then moved to swipe in case i wanted to customize that one. but then I realized there was no double tap action and seeing as I’m trying to recreate this one launcher I need that function. the script makes it possible but I don’t know how to direct it to a specific folder I cant use it. once I learn that I can really set it up but right now I’m trying to work on the page scrolling. having trouble with that too because the 2nd page uses a full screen panel and I must be able to save that page as is but I cant seem to figure out how to do it without having to move the panel out of the way first. and everytime i do that THEN save when I click the shortcut the panel is in the moved position when it’s supposed to be covering the full screen. I’m just working out the bugs
