Based on my experience (but this could be wrong, correct me if it is) the ‘recent’ app drawer in LLX seem to take into account only apps launched from the app drawer itself.

How about also the ones launched in the desktop? (Could it be easy?)

Question for users: do you think it would be better, or worse?

Mine shows all recent apps, regardless of where they were launched from.

Edit: it doesn’t however show recent apps that were launched by intent from another app… like if I launch browser from a link in G+ or an email. This is normal though, right?

Same here. All apps launched from wherever, unless it’s through another App. Would there be any way to show recent apps pop up in a panel or folder or shortcut (panel would be better).

You mean like long pressing the home button?

Ha. It would be better if you could swipe or some other gesture. Without using another app like Switchr, Quickr, etc. Plus long pressing home button brings up a scrollable list of apps in newer flavors. They got rid of the recents pop up after 2.3. So it would be nice to see recent apps nice and neat without having to scroll or flick thru in the case of Switchr. I’m sure you’re enjoying your old OS right now. 😉

I think that TrianguloY means “frequently used”, not “recent”. Because in case of frequently used, there is indeed a flaw where apps launched from a desktop are not counted , whereas only apps launched from the app drawer are taken into account, making this feature much less useful, or even useless (but that depends on the way you use the app drawer indeed).

I am not sure however that I can fix this easily…

Didn’t really use that feature too much. So overlooked it. I think the frequently used and recents app drawers have potential to be used better with LLX. With Lightning drawer, only useful if you’re in that drawer environment. If they were accessible via actions like All Apps is, that would be useful. A nice and neat solution to see all recent or frequently used Apps; vs long pressing home button and scrolling a long list of apps. Don’t know why they changed that for phones.
