When choosing an icon for a folder, it would be nice to be able to choose the icon from one of the installed apps.
For example, I play Ingress. I’ve got a few Ingress-related apps that I’ve put into a folder. The nicest icon for that folder would be the icon from the Ingress app itself.
I have to say that I’m constantly amazed by how powerful LL is and I would feel lost without it. Thank you!

I know this isn’t what you asked for, but I found this somewhere and fixed it up in Photoshop for my Ingress folder. https://app.box.com/s/v3j6kg9jqwt0jnij3kw8

Alun Jones this is possible but it relies on another missing thing in LL : a built in icon picker. As of today LL relies on pickers from icon pack or external file manager. In order support more icon packs that don’t have picker I need to add a custom icon picker into LL, and once this picker will be here, it will be possible to use it for other icon sources, such as app icons.

it would also be possible if the “open folder” action was implemented, using it as the action for an ingress shortcut

Pierre Hébert thanks for the response. Just a thought which might save the need for a picker in this instance. Could you have an option to use the icon of the “first” object in the folder? Stack mode seems to have a logical order for the icons, so I’m talking about just using the top icon of the stack, if that makes sense.

Gustavo Luis Soto this is indeed becoming a priority item, but stop points will come first.
Alun Jones this would be possible but I think the right way to do it is the picker. One thing you can do in the meantime is to extract the icon from the package, or directly from the play store app page (on a PC) and then move it on your device, and finally pick it using the file manager.

Alun Jones:
This is another trick you can use (but you’ll don’t like step 0)
0) delete all items in the folder, or make a new folder.
1) put inside the folder, the icon you want to be shown in the folder icon
2) change the folder icon style to stack. Save.
-Now the folder will show that icon only.
3) change the folder icon style to icon.
-Now you can edit the folder all you want. Their icon will always be the same.
Pierre Hébert:
What about the ability to change the number of icons in stack mode? Between 1 and 4 or even more.
