1) If user have locked desktop (desktop/lightning settings/Lock), disable (shadow or not visible) this option: Add items…, Edit layout, maybe items…/Hierarchy…
2) please enable lock/unlock folder and panel
3) or doing locking more optional.
I mean. If user doing tap to Lock, open new popup window with this:
Lock this option (or different text):
Add items… (yes/no)
Edit layout (yes/no)
long tap on item (yes/no)
etc.
And user can or can not set password (if yes, user must set verification password).

what i would like is a new stable version. all the improvment you’re all asking for are very interesting, but if we don’t have time to test the beta, we’re stuck with 9.3.
a new stable version with all the new features you’re testing (especially the one that allow import in a new desktop without loosing the existing ones) will be welcome.

Henri H I think Pierre Hébert’s last post mentioned that the latest beta version is close to being a stable version. I doubt that anyone has an expectation that a posted feature request should take priority over completing the next version.
When I come up with if one of my brilliant ideas 😉 I need to get it written down before my brain gets too full and it falls out. if I post it here there’s time for plenty of discussion and brainstorming to identify whether or not they actually are necessary or desirable ideas, then they can get into the queue and stay there until it’s appropriate to get working on them.

If I think of something, then I write here. Many of my old ideas were implemented. I know it Pierre reads, make a note in TODO list or any other place.
In the past I’ve Pierre wrote many e-mails. Write ideas in G+ is much better.

My post wasn’t a critic, I didn’t want to offense anyone. I totally respect the way you work. Pierre seems to take note of everything that is written here and he’s giving us the best launcher and still working hard to improve it.
I didn’t apply for the beta but I’m reading ALL your posts and your ideas are good ones.
Most of the desktops you’re posting are awesome .
But the truth is that I don’t remember what’s new since 9.4 because I didn’t had the opportunity to test all those new features. And I would like to…

Everything linked with locking is pretty tricky because it affects how new users use (or not) the app. On one hand the lock option is pretty dumb and could be improved, but on the other hand it fulfill needs of a lot of people. I am a bit worried at changing it now.
