Would be nice if the background of the icon picker (customize item->select an icon) was more dynamic. I like the black bg, but it’s almost impossible to choose the right icon, if the icon pack consists of black icons (tiny black icons). Only thing that helped me, was that the placing of tiny blue and tiny black icons was the same and then some trial and error.
Perhaps sampling the icons and seeing if they are dark or light and adapt based on that. Or a switch to change to a lighter background (probably a lot easier this way).

In fact LL needs an integrated icon picker, because the icon picker which is really launched is built into the icon pack. Hence the black background is selected by the pack, and there is nothing that LL can do about it. An integrated icon picker is high on the TODO list 🙂

Just curious, arte other icon pack formats on the to-do list? (For example the Nox icon pack doesn’t pay nicely with LL.) I remember that this was brought up by someone quite some time ago, but can’t remember your views on this.

The reason is that most well known launcher have built their own icon picker, hence 99% of users don’t see the builtin pack icon picker, and icon packs author do not bother about it.
More icon pack support is on the todo list, but I thought that Nox was fine now… and the TODO list is long.

My bad probably, haven’t heard about any improvements for icon packs, so I haven’t tested Nox for quite some time now, will try it out now!

Nox mostly works – everything gets themed and changed, but the thing I really liked it about (I like the icons as well of course) still doesn’t happen. It should have different backgrounds colours for themed icons, but only grey gets applied and the outcome isn’t as colourful and cheery as it should be. Still, it’s not a high priority issue, just a minor inconvenience.

Pierre Hébert What’s too much? The todo list or the invested time? For the first I can only say that no one expects these things to happen over night and that LL is greater than the alternatives for me and many others as it is at the moment! And for the second – it is one of the things that is appealing about LL, although I understand that the bigger the community, the harder it will be, but that’s the reason you’ve enlisted extra moderators =D
Yup, multiple backgrounds – it makes the themed icons colorful and they blend in more, but in LL they are grey and only look kinda sad.
