I recently switched from a Nexus 6P to a Pixel XL. Lightning worked great on the Nexus, and everything seems fine on the Pixel except for one problem: when I install a new app, it doesn’t show up in the Lightning app drawer, and it isn’t added to the home page. However, if I go to the Play Store, the app shows installed and if I click on Open, it launches just fine. It also shows up in the All Apps list under Settings, and can be opened from there. But it’s not in the app drawer and I can’t find any way to add it to the home page.

If I use any the Pixel launcher, the app is in the app drawer, and I can add it to the home screen. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling LL, but it made no difference. Apps that I added before that then show up in the LL app drawer, but new apps I add don’t.

This has happened with every app I have added. Two examples: ToDo Cloud from Appigo, and Soundcloud.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

  1. If an app is added to the home screen is decided by a play store setting. Hit refresh in the app drawer to load missing apps.

Such a simple solution! Thanks, I won’t forget that one.

I need to make a post about this, this is an ‘Oreo’ feature.

The best fix currently is to simply click refresh on the app drawer, the app will be added there and then you can add it to the desktop.

Lukas Morawietz , check https://developer.android.com/about/versions/oreo/android-8.0-migration.html#rbr, perhaps we can use scripts to implement a temporal workaround.
