Kinda early but heres a few things id love to see in LLX2

1. Easy theming of elements yano were the colors are taken from the wallpaper this is currently doable in Lightning but only with script would be nice if it was built in.

2. Actionbar/Toolbar for the desktop again this is currently doable with script but would also be nice built in.

3. Alphabet strip for the app drawer

4. Updated icon font with that menu icon i asked about before

5. A simple way to quick toggle on/off the grid lines

6. Daydream (screensaver) support for Lightning Live Wallpaper basically the option to use the wallpaper as a daydream instead of on the desktop.

7. Expanded desktop hide nav and statusbar

…..a better UI, just add an option to make LL copy whatever Kustom is doing. LLX have the properties menu, if you mixed the other options with it, and put a smaller desktop on top with auto-zoom, you basically have a more manageable interface. The edit mode is good for general editing, and I don’t think I want it to go, but holy fuck, trying to be precise is a nightmare, constantly juggling betweent 3 or more options and menus feels like I’m fighting the UI, and I’m not winning

    I agree, especially on 1-3.

what do you mean by copy whatever kustom is doing? you know theres a geometry editor right? 5th icon on the bottom toolbar really useful for when you need to be precise.

I meant design wise, not feature wise. In terms of editing LL (probably) has more features, however, Kustom has an editing UI that I feel is better organized, while LL have 10 different “menus”, each doing something specific and being draw on top of container you are editing, Kustom on the other hand organizes everything in Layers(LL already does this but is a separate option that takes a big chunk of the screen), the bottom half is basically 3 LL menus organized in one, and there’s an option to auto zoom and only show the current object you’re editing.

I doubt Pierre could change the LL editing UI at this point, but if he makes a new launcher I would like if he copied some ideas from Kustom in terms of design, or at least put it as an option

thought so i think the problem with that though is it beefs up the size to much and uses more memory. If you read the app description for Lightning it focuses on being customizable, fast and lightweight. But saying that if the plans to drop support for older devices/Android versions this might not be a problem. You got my vote anyways.

cant really copy kustom like but can get ideas from it.

I’m just saying to copy this editing UI, the way things are organized, not to copy any functions, it shouldn’t beef anything because I’m not proposing new features per say, just the way they’re organized to the user.

LL have the properties menu that looks similar to this, I’m just proposing to merge a couple of menus into it, and make the desktop being show on the upper half of the screen and put (almost) every other menu as tabs in the lower half of the screen

Edit: I’ve counted the number of menus you use to change an item in LL:

    Floating Menus:

    -Properties

    -Geometry Editor

    Weird sidebarmenuthing:

    -Position

    -Customize Item

    There’s also the Hierarchy Screen

Kustom has a layout that basically merges all those menus in one with tabs, that’s is what I wished LL did(make this kind of layout an option)
