Ah, s…t, my first app removal notification.

Ah, s…t, my first app removal notification.

The update for Lightning has been rejected by Google, even though some users already received the update. Reason: “Violation of the intellectual property and impersonation or deceptive behavior provisions of the Content Policy.”

What?

Don’t know why, and don’t know when it will be resolved.

What’s wrong with these guys?! Same thing happened to Gejos Enterprise apps. They have moved to Amazone App Store. So sad…

Lutz Linke had the same issue recently… Google like robots… The problem is that when a robot fail, you have no human being to discuss with.

Pierre Hébert well, but you don’t need advice, you want to complain!

Maybe you violated your own rights by publishing an app with the same icon… ;D

I received it last night and my previous issues (wallpaper and status bar) appear to be fixed.

in my opinion some of the screenshots show personally information . could be a birthday or something similar. i had this a few weeks ago. it’ should not be the text or links inside the text. after i changed the screenshots and send them a mail everything was ok.

edit: i can’t see any personally info at the screenshots ;-(

Yes, some users received the update before the app suspension. There are probably some automated checks that are run at periodic intervals. You have been lucky to update soon enough 🙂

Only get 3 strikes IIRC, I get that they wanna sound professional but it wouldn’t kill them to say exactly why it was removed. I reckon they have hotkeys setup with different excuses and some dude just sits there and hits one at random on any app Google wish they developed.

Google has gone insane! I read post just like this from developers all the time. You will get it worked out. You are an amazing problem solver Pierre Hébert.

Possibly any 3rd party app icons or widgets. Also any music album cover. Hard to tell. Crazy intransparency!

I tried again with some modifications (less screenshot, a link to the public post yesterday) but no luck. The funny thing is that the app has been republished and rejected this night while I was sleeping! Funny or frightening, I don’t know, because this makes a total of third attempts. I just tried a fourth time with updated screenshots, two of them contained music artwork, crossing fingers…

Pierre Hébert congratulations! So, just how many chickens did you have to sacrifice while reading the code to the API backwards to achieve this feat? (Getting past the automated rejection process seems to be more a result of voodoo black magic than anything else these days…)

Glad to see you back on course (although I was indeed one of the lucky ones to get yesterdays update).

The main fault from Google is to send generic, automated and frightening emails to developers without pinpointing the exact issue.
