V12.3
V12.3
Edit: V12.3.1 to fix a package build issue.
Not a lot of changes, mainly bug fixes and a new item type “Custom View”.
This new item type requires script and android framework knowledge, that’s an advanced but funny tool. Basically it allows almost any kind of content to be put in the launcher: that’s powerful but more complex. Please the documentation given in the “Create” option found in the “+” tab for a given custom view item.
I am curious to see what you can do with this…
(something bigger scheduled for v12.4…)

Nice work Pierre Hébert, maybe one day I’ll be able to talk to you into telling me your real home planet of origin lmao jk jk bro, still lightning is a pure work of genius, great job man I learn more new stuff every day…. Well I’m curious about that upcoming release, curious about , hmmm, what was it? floating windows over any app? or something like that huh😮😮😜😜 and a touch of transition animations (both without script for us primitive humans😅😅😂😂) and there isn’t anything else really… “Limitless” and “infinity” will no longer be sufficient enough to describe it… Thanks for all your hard work man😊😊

Everything has a limit (well, at least on my planet which is the same as yours I guess, lol). Elsewhere in the universe I don’t know.
No floating windows nor animations yet, I am focusing on improving the editor UI including (but not limited to) undo (easier than I thought, working quite good already), multi selection (that’s the hell), and new editing controls (currently trying something and I’ll request input from the community when it can be shown).

Pierre Hébert I was jus joking f**kin witcha bro lol😂😂 actually in all honesty popup widget 2 does way more than enough to cover that and way more with all the fancy animations. So personally I’m set with that, maybe in the future but I do agree there are other things that could use the focus more.. Plus there are more than enough very good very powerful sidebar, window, floating apps widgets out there if anyone needs it. I think the way you’re going is pretty smart anyway it sounds. But that’s really awesome man those are some of the points that really do need the user friendly polishing, maybe eliminate some steps

Corey Spell yes, the user interface needs to be improved. I always tend to implement things so that a given feature becomes possible to do, without caring too much on how it is easy to use, but in the end any feature that is hard to use is almost useless… So I am focusing on this right now and any new feature will be delayed until I get the job done. Might need some time…

Pierre Hébert I fully agree man, and after I took a minute to focus on it, I think now it’s really not as complicated as people say some times.. You’re right it’s the UI look and setup.. It’s so precise and functional, doing everything it’s supposed to do and gives so many options that packing that many settings into something very “pretty” and user friendly is not natural and requires a ton of work on your side. Nowadays people have been kinda spoiled by so much stuff in life being made convenient and easy they’re conditioned to “judge a book by its cover” and the better something looks the easier it is even if it’s really not.. Someone will put more effort into what’s more visual appealing sub consciously not realizing they are doing it because it’s more comfortable and feels more natural. That’s not saying anything bad about anyone just saying things are different , the bad part comes in for you because this is one of those things that requires more work to come out with less complexity in the result. it takes more work to make something look easier that is so complex (which is like 2+2=1.23 not natural) lol oh I have a question real quick what do you think would be the best most efficient way to lunch multiple actions from a single shortcut, getting multiple actions from one event, which I’ve been using e robot, or would it be best to keep doing that and not put that many things launched at one moment on the launcher?

Pierre Hébert
I just tried the custom view sample script. It is very cool.
Its a bit over my head at this stage to delve in and create more examples, but I can see how some of the higher skilled users will have a lot of fun with this, and hopefully I can begin to hack some scripts to call things I want.
As always your Launcher is fantastic, thanks for making Android what it should be
