V12.5b10 beta

V12.5b10 beta

Slow progress but some bug fixes anyway in what I hope is the last beta before the release.

I also activated the Play Store license check (only when Play services are installed). To be honest I don’t expect this license check to be fully transparent, so if it causes any troubles it will go away before the release. As said earlier I don’t really think it will change something anyway. (https://plus.google.com/u/0/111515542011384905214/posts/Wvixsvn9KjF)

If all goes well I’ll push this version to the stable channel before the next week, and I’ll start again with a new beta right after: new things to come…

Licence check – for me good idea. But I mean this option you cannot test by beta, because everybody have this version from Google Play Store. ..

Anyone can explain this “lisence check” for me?

    Is this needed?

The purpose is to verify the app has been installed through the play store. The beta test is good because what I want to ensure is that it doesn’t cause any issue for people who have the play store license. The app should also work as usual on devices without the play store services.

Thank you Pierre Hébert, now what I don’t really know is how the apk  (mentioned on link) works, and how to make it. Is that apk came from someone who already have a full version then spread it freely?

What if I purchased LL but for some reason need to install them with apk not from playstore?

And what will this lisence check do if LL proved to be illegaly installed?

Yes, these apks are purchased, copied, and refunded, then put somewhere on the web. If the license cannot be verified the app will still work but edit mode is disabled (redirection to the play store if possible)

It is truly sad developers even have to put a license check on something that only cost a couple of dollars because so many people find it convenient do not spend the change they can scrape out of their couch cushions on someone’s really hard work lol unfortunately people will patch apps continuously and there’s probably not much that can be done about it, but at least there are some good honest people still out there who respect someone’s work which is more important than the money in some ways. If any app deserves to be paid for out right it is this one
