V12.5
V12.5
Edit: V12.5.1 with minor adjustments
At last, this new version with bindings is available for everyone!
And I would like to say a bit thanks to beta testers who had to cope with several big bugs during this beta testing
More documentation regarding bindings and variables here: http://www.pierrox.net/android/applications/lightning_launcher/wiki/doku.php?id=bindings

Hate to complain but this update just destroyed my setup… I have spots on my Homescreen that opens different folders when I touch them.. The folders have apps in them. It’s how I get around my phone… The apps within the folders are misplaced and I can’t put it back.. I am at a compete loss as to fixing it 😕
]]>
< ![CDATA[
I really hope we can address this!
]]>

No problems here, with my current desktop or template or backup. All are fine!
Thanks for the moveItem and all the other splendid work.

Chris Wood there was a change in how folders show the content.
Before, the top-left item was always at the top-left corner of the folder.
Now, the origin (0,0) is the one at the top-left corner.
How to fix that:
-move all the items manually so that the top-left one is in the (0,0) position.
-use a script to do this. You can use the ‘change home page’ in the repository, but maybe it doesn’t work in your setup.
-use a ‘bookmark’ in the resumed event of the folder, so that when it opens it goes automatically to the old position.

So i would just do whatever th hell it is you have out lined there to fix th alignment of th widget i have in a panel in a folder would i???????? it used to be people could use this, now every update means hours spent just trying to get things to display th way they did before th update!!!!!

I’ve been working on it for 1/2 day now.. I’ll get it sooner or later.. Sad we had to change things. Maybe it’s the way it needed to be but it’s painstakingly.. I hold my breath on every update that it doesn’t destroy my setup
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Klyntone Bourserk my thoughts exactly.. Not broke don’t fix it.. Right?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Oh well, I’ll restore the old and broken behavior.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert please don’t.. I just spent a considerable amount of time fixing the issue… Do you realize how hard it is to even find things in folders when things are changed…. I know you do.. My setup is now fixed.. I do not want to spend another whole day fixing it again… Please leave it the way it is.. PLEASE
]]>
< ![CDATA[
A setting to enable/disable the ‘auto center’ in the miscellaneous category of the folders settings will satisfy everybody, I hope.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Restoring the old behavior won’t change anything. Since you know have your folders properly populated from the origin, it will still work.
The old behavior is a fix for layout not starting at the home position, no more, no less.

< ![CDATA[
TrianguloYÂ yes it would, but I am reluctant to add yet another option which only goals is to maintain compatibility with setup that can (IMHO) be easily fixed with your change home page script.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Not sure I understand or believe that.. Because I don’t understand.. I got all my folders displaying from zero now.. I don’t understand if you put it back why it wouldn’t cause all my folders to revert back to what I just went through.. But as I said I don’t understand
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert change home page script might sound like English to you but to me it sounds Russian.. I have absolutely no idea what that means.. To tell you the truth if I hadn’t figured out how to fix it on my own I wouldn’t have had any idea what TrianguloY was even talking about
]]>
< ![CDATA[
I have no idea how to use scripts.. I have never been about to figure them out.. I love your Launcher.. There is nothing like it.. Most I can figure out but something are way above my head..
]]>

http://www.pierrox.net/android/applications/lightning_launcher/wiki/doku.php?id=script_change_home_page
Restoring the previous method won’t change your fix because the top-left most icon will be displayed at the top/left corner…where it is now.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
TrianguloY no offense but I really have no idea what the instructions mean.. All I know is after spending half of a day of my life fixing something that wasn’t broken I don’t want to go through it again.. The damage was done. Just leave it alone.. As I said.. I hold my breath on every update of this Launcher that my setup won’t be destroyed. Does no good to backup a setup as it didn’t do anything to fix it
]]>
< ![CDATA[
I hate to sound ungrateful.. It’s just I spent probably couple months settings my setup up.. I have it exactly the way I want it. I updated the Launcher and suddenly I can’t open a single one of my folder/sidebars to access my apps.. I spent 5 mins trying to make a call because I couldn’t locate my dialer.. It wasn’t life threatening but good thing it wasn’t..
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert regardless.. Don’t take me wrong.. You are amazing and I do appreciate your work and your product.. There is simply nothing like your Launcher.. I will never be able to use a different Launcher.. Thanks for your work ☺
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Chris Wood no offence, and for your own well-being:
i hope you know how to make a back-up of your desktop, and of a perfectly good version of an apk.
And how to how to disable auto-update.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Jappie Toutenhoofd I made a backup of my setup.. And none of my apps get auto updated.. I still like to update some of my apps when an update comes in.. (still don’t expect updating will destroy a setup) and as I mentioned.. Using my backup did absolutely nothing in fixing my setup.. The folders were changed my backup had no affect
]]>
< ![CDATA[
I see there’s an update in the play store again.. Can you confirm that updating will not destroy folders again now that I’ve fixed it? I know I’ve been told it will not effect my setup now but how can I be sure?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
It won’t destroy anything (it wasn’t before, just displaying in a different position)
Anyway, you said that you had a backup from the previous version, so if after the update you don’t like something you can restore it and it should be exactly the same as before.
Just remember to make a backup with the changes you made recently…just in case.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
The backup didn’t fix it the first time so I don’t understand why the backup would fix it this time
]]>
< ![CDATA[
ok, will try.
in edit mode every container (desktop, folder, panel) has a little house. This house represents (0,0)
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Because the app is updated.
Imagine this:
You have old glasses that are a bit yellow, so you see things more yellow than they are.
You draw a picture, and you make a copy.
Then you clean your glasses and you complain that the picture is not yellow enough, even if you look at the copy you made.
What this new update does: make your glasses yellow again.
*this is not an exact analogy, but I hope you understand what’s going on
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Thanks for your help….. Worked fine

For what it’s worth, I feel you’ve done a magnificent job Pierre! LL is still the most feature rich, small foot print launcher on android and I am proud to call this my launcher of choice. Keep up the stellar work good sir! Well done!

Chris Millensifer couldn’t have said it better myself. Well said!
