This beta mostly deals with images, with tons of modifications ranging from bug fixes to new features, including:
– support for animated GIFs in shortcut icons (not in backgrounds nor in layers yet).
– more flexibility regarding the icon size: the image is no longer scaled to match the standard launcher icon size, but can also be displayed using its real size, or fill the item.
– fixed the icon reflection processing which has been broken since… years, probably.
– brand new script image API: it’s cleaner, much more versatile and allows the creation of small animations. Everything should remain compatible, if not then I’ll fix it.
– new ImageScript class: this geeky toy allows direct image and animation drawing, without the need for an intermediate bitmap (I hope you’ll love it as I do…).
At last but not least, panels can now be edited fullscreen. This is really new and I expect to discover a few caveats but since this is an immensely requested feature, I am publishing it right now in this beta.

I cannot open edit mode for panel. Everytime is LL paused, and after about half minut i can wait more or doing restart LL.

Do not save styles with no name… If user have empty name and doing tap to ok buton, this only close window. I mean, better solution is show warning, some text must be added.

Pierre Hébert are there downsides to setting an icon to full screen size (since backgrounds can’t currently allow animated gifs)? separately, what is the simplest way (script?) to toggle between an animated gif and its static alternative?

The downside is memory use, the larger the image is, the more memory is needed. That said, if the input image is smaller, it will not be copied to another bigger bitmap when displayed fullscreen, it is just drawn upscaled. All in one it works like background.
You can use ImageAnimation.stop()/start() to control an animated GIF.

With b2 i have some problems with my setup. At the Moment i am back to Stock Android 4.1.2 on my Samsung S2. The background images of my folders randomly dissappear. If i accidentally open a folder wich has no background image anymore, LLX hangs… hangs…. and hangs. No error report dialog. Multitasking doesn’t work anymore. No reaction of my phone anymore. Can’t make a Screenshot or video. Have to reboot my phone.
And then the same thing, but with a other Folder which opened normally bevor i rebooted. It’s randomly.

This is center fitting: the image isn’t cropped and at least one dimension exactly fits the boundaries. (including reflection, scale, etc.)
