V14.2.1 stable

V14.2.1 stable

A new version with a required update due to Google Play policy change, and two fixes:

– remove READ_CALL_LOG and READ_SMS permissions because their use in launchers is now forbidden by the Google Play Store policy. A dialog box with a workaround will be displayed in case these permissions are needed (in badges)

– fix the floating desktop on Oreo, thanks to TrianguloY

– partially fix the issue with the app drawer not being automatically updated upon app (un)install on Oreo

I wasn’t too sure I could still code in Java, build an APK and publish it on the Play Store, but hey, it’s like riding a bike: it can’t be forgotten!

I love your launcher, but we need more updates 😉. Can’t you find some folks to help you, if you don’t have that much time?

Maybe also a free app with some ads here and there, so you can get some more money? 😀

Thank you very much for your efforts.

Heureux et rassuré de te “revoir” ici.

J’espère que tout va bien pour toi.

    Enjoy !

PS : I think someone will ask but what will we become once G+ will be shut down ? I don’t see any relevant community solution… Forums are the closest thing Imo but they need server, maintenance and moderation… Not really convenient.

Oh, and it seems that I can’t restore any backup, the launcher crashes all the time 😔

I tried sharing my latest backup (would have been to Google Drive, but it didn’t get as far as asking) last week, and that crashed the app too Stefanos Dag Pierre Hébert

I’m sorry to hear that. On wich device/android version is it crashing? Could it be that the permissions to access the storage are not enabled?

Thanks Pierre Hébert but it does have permission.

thanx for partial floating desktop fix for oreo. Now it may be shown with swiping handle as it was capable to do on Nougat. But icones displayed quite higher then ones of normal desktop (probably statusbar height was not taken into account). And normal shortcut action ‘floating desktop’ still not working (the same way as it wasnt on Nougat). I cant get why it is impossible to share this float desktop activity ie making it accessible with any android shortcut making app action instead of making it private LL’s only launchable action? For simply launching it from normal systemwide shortcut to corresponding activity without that swiping on clattering precious mobile device’s screen space handles. Now I made the shortcut which swiping handle for me. But I really cant get why not share simple shortcut action to system apps (as internal LL shortcut’s action had never been working properly as it making only Home action since Nougat instead of floating desktop). Thanx for fix anyways. Maybe some script may launch damn floating desktop? If yes what is it’s working listing may looks like?

Merci Lionel SANCHEZ ! Oui je vais bien.

Regarding G+, there are several options but my preference currently goes for a forum because it’s independent and also because it offers a path for a possible migration of posts (hypothetical but technically doable it seems).

Bruno-Isa LAMOUR-ARNOULD renaissance implique mort, disons que l’appli était en pause, après tout elle est restée en ligne sur le Play Store 😉

Badman forever! the floating desktop is not an activity, hence it cannot be triggered by a normal intent. Instead this is a service that manages a special window. This service reacts to broadcast. As Nougat and Oreo put restrictions on broadcasts, I think the issue may be lying here. However I can’t reproduce it on my device (I just bought the cheapest android phone I could find running oreo!). Using a lightning action or a shortcut does the job as expected. If it trigger a kind of home action on your device then maybe there’s something else in the loop. Which device is it?

Pierre Hébert Hi, internal LL’s show fl desk shortcut is one way road to Home. I have Xiaomi Mi Max 2 oxygen, with rooted Lineage 15.1 =8.1 android oreo. The same behaviour was on nougat + Miui 8,9,10. I have Xposed installed if it matters. But could you give correct broadcast parameters for launching damn floating desktop? package = llextream, which is correct class and correct action names? (actually I was trying each one, even D1, D2, etc – nothing working . I even can modify variables on the fly. But what I see with my own eyes now is after building show floating desktop shortcut it leading me always to Start Activity: android.intent.action.VIEW net.pierrox.lightning_launcher_extreme/net.pierrox.lightning_launcher.activities.Dashboard wwhich is simply the home action.

    If I try to launch shortcut via ll’s plugin inteface it building this command //putString(“i”, “#Intent;component=net.pierrox.lightning_launcher_extreme/net.pierrox.lightning_launcher.activities.Dashboard;S.ea=%7B%22a%22%3A42%7D;end”);

    Hello!

    I too, have been MIA.

I nearly choked when I saw a LL update!

    I reckon I’ll hang out again 😉 Life does change, doesn’t it…

Maybe I should get a new phone so I could experience some problems also, but I still really like my LG v20 and LL has been bullet proof. Nice to hear from you and I hope you and your family are well.

Great sounding DAC and headphone amp (my priority), and probably the last generation flagship to have a “user replaceable” battery
