This maybe an option and can’t find or a suggestion, but is it possible that if you slide or move away from home screen and select and go to an app and return home using the back button it will default to return to the home screen

There isn’t an option to set, but my setup almost always does this. In my case it’s because I run low on memory and the launcher gets dumped and has to reload. ; )
It’s possible that you may get the action you want by unchecking “Keep Lightning Running” in general settings, but that would be hit or miss at best.
