Step-by-step Tutorials
Has anyone considered developing text-based tutorials as opposed to creating videos?
I’m new to Lightning Launcher and I sense it to be a superior launcher for customizations. Along with that power there is a steep learning curve and I understand that. What I haven’t been able to find online is very much documentation and I have found the videos which I have difficulty following, probably due to no audio, little explanation as to why a step is needed, small video size and to rapid changes.

The problem with doing this is it takes time. If someone just writes a text tutorial you can pretty much guarantee people are going to say its pointless without a video and speech especially if its posted on youtube,

Pierre has an online help site, if you long press an option it will open. Long press on font style in customise appearance leads here: http://www.pierrox.net/android/applications/lightning_launcher/help/topic.php?id=4&v=142
I am sure if any of that is unclear we’ll do our best to help, or Pierre will release an update 30 or 40 seconds later that fixes it 🙂

Charles Davis, I feel you bro. I’m not much on video tutorials either. Having said that, there’s some stuff that’s hard to explain without visuals.

I never understood why many videos I see here have no audio. The free screen recorder lets you record audio.

I agree with Chris Chastain text and video tutorial have both their strengths and are complementary. Still, I don’t have the time to make both at the moment.

Also one great thing about lightning launcher is the ability to backup and restore your layout. So make a backup then dont be afraid to get in there and fiddle around. Its the best way to learn 🙂
If your not happy with the results you can simply restore your backup.
