Is there a way to add more than one app at a time to a panel?

Is there a way to add more than one app at a time to a panel?  When I go to “edit layout” of a panel, then choose “add>application” and while choosing the apps I choose “add to launcher”, it adds it to the desktop, NOT the panel.  So, its either doing it one at a time, or adding a bunch to the desktop then dragging them one by one into the panel.  Problem with that of course, is that due to the panel layout size/grid may be different, it doesn’t automatically resize the icons and one has to manually do it to each item.

Yes there is. In the add>application process, if you long press on an icon in your application drawer a pop-up menu including add appears. Selecting that will add the icon but remain in the application drawer. Select, rather than long press the last one to return to the desktop, or hit back.

When you long press on the panel to get the menu, is ‘customise panel content’ an option? if you are adding from that menu, they should be inserted into the panel.

    Hope that helps

Steve Parkin yes, but that’s one at a time… as soon as one chooses “add” the app drawer closes and have to go through all the steps all over again to add another one.

Actually, when you long press on an icon in the app drawer, there is no “add” option, only “add to launcher”.  If you short press an icon, then it adds it correctly, but one has to repeat all the steps to add another one.

Odd. i just did it then. Just in case we’re not quite following each other.

    1 long press panel.

    2 select add.

    3 select application.

4 find the first app in your drawer that you want.

5 long press the application icon and select add to launcher.

6 repeat 4/5 until last icon to add.

    7 select last icon.

    8 Be at desktop.

Edit just posted you a screen shot.

    Edit2 after reading Chris’ post.

The “add to launcher” label in the menu is a bit vague, when it says “launcher” it does not mean “desktop” it means “whatever thing in the current desktop that you are adding stuff to”.

Zsolt Golenya please re-read Steve Parkin’s post. ”In the Add-> Application process”. He means while in your panel, long press-> Add -> Application… continue with his instructions.

Steve Parkin, we are on the same page as far as the steps are concerned. Chris Chastain, I am long pressing while INSIDE the panel. Still, the “add to launcher” does not add apps to the panel, it puts them outside of the panel, onto the desktop somewhere. Only when I short press the icon in the app drawer, then it adds it to the the panel correctly. But only one (because it was short pressed). Then the process has to be repeated all over again for another app….

Moved into bug report: I confirm that while repeatedly long pressing/add an icon from the app drawer should add it to the current desktop, folder or panel, depending on which one has been selected last.
