Hi Lightning launcher peeps, little help needed
Hi Lightning launcher peeps, little help needed … Is there any way I can set an app shortcut … Incognito tab for instance to be a long press to launch, rather than use traditional app shortcuts ? Thanks for any help ☺️

Yup. Just find your way to this option here and set it.

Thanks for your help Curtis, But I already found this setting but haven’t found an option to use a original app shortcut option as a long press rather than having to bring up the app shortcut menu …

You mean like in the app drawer?

I would like to use this as a direct long click rather than a long click and then have to click an option … If that makes sense!

If i understand correctly, you should be able to assign that in the option that i showed you, then choose shortcut, and then in cognito

I thought the same but I can’t seem to see Incognito on the list of shortcuts ! Maybe it’s not possible ?

I just noticed myself. Could have sworn it was there. Hmm what the Hell

Seems strange to miss that option out … I’ll have to message the dev and see if it’s hidden somewhere !

Good luck. I don’t believe in it, but this might shut me up

as far as im aware the incognito shortcut isnt available in any 3rd party launcher.

Thanks Jay, Incognito was just the first shortcut I was looking for … Just seems like something I assumed lightning would have been able to do … But I can’t even find it as an option in tasker to trigger as a task either !? Confusing 🙂

Jay M I can believe that. I mean since i got this phone, half my widgets don’t show up in 3rd party launchers either.

Although I’m sure with scripts I can find a way, there is an alternative script-less!
In case you never noticed, on that list of shortcuts you can long tap one of them to create a direct item to that shortcut (thanks Pierre!)
This item is a little special, and clicking it will launch incognito.
To convert it to a normal chrome shortcut just change the icon, set the tap action to ‘open app>chrome’ and long tap to ‘launch item’
Voila

TrianguloY Somehow i think my phone is glitched. I can’t assign shortcuts at all. It keeps stopping the launcher, and i keep getting a toast saying i need to turn off the DON’T KEEP ACTIVITIES option…. IT’S NOT EVEN ON, YOU IDIOT!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL????

Curtis Sylvester Jr. That seems a different topic from what is discussed here, maybe start a new post? Still, that may seem like your device has very little ram.

TrianguloY That solved my issue. Fantastic thank you and Pierre !

TrianguloY I’m sure it’s a separate post all together, i brought it up because this is what i found when trying to follow your comment. I have 2GB of RAM on this phone. It’s kinda odd that I’m just now having this issue

TrianguloY ok just to update, the issue only happened with the web shortcut so far. Everything else seems to be working Just fine. So why just that one?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Oh, I see. That’s strange…I can’t think of anything that could be the cause of that.
Are you getting the toast when you long tap in the list of shortcuts, or when you long tap the created shortcut?
]]>

Just creating the shortcut does it. Long tap doesn’t do anything at all, And it’s not just LL i have the issue with. Total Launcher is where i get the toast, LL just simply closes out. Its like none of my launchers like that damn shortcut.
