I dont think anyone is going to believe me but there is in fact a third party lockscreen that actually uses secure locking (it has pin as well as pattern). See for yourself right here, no widget support but it works great so far. widget locker is the next best (widget support but no secure lock) and both can/will disable status bar/notification tray as well as the home, back and recent apps buttons. I guess its possible to have a secure third party lockscreen?

I don’t think there can be a lockscreen as secure as the default one (without root), but there are definetly lockscreen apps which are more secure than LL.

Pierre Hébert will it be possible (maybe on the todo list 🙂 ) to have a sort of secure API for beeing able to make a secure lockscreen with LL, with some highly customizable lock, like pattern, pin code, simple swipe, or even a personnal secure mode, that we need to define in javascript code!! : like a function that receive an object describing the current state of our personal locker, and then check if the state is ok to unlock, compared to some encrypted object describing the state needed to effectively unlock the screen…. Or something like that!
Lukas Morawietz & others will surely have a lot of nice stuff and ideas 🙂
