How could I trigger a desktop change when my phone enters car mode?

How could I trigger a desktop change when my phone enters car mode? I’ve been unhappy with most car mode apps, so I wanted to build my own driver-friendly interface in lightning that matches my theme. I can’t find anything built into lightning, or even a state in tasker or secure settings. My last resort would be a page that I scroll to or something when I get in the car, but I’d rather figure out a way to automate this. Could someone please help me out?

What exactly defines car mode? Is it landscape only, connected via Bluetooth, sth else?

Many devices have a magnetic sensor on the back. If it senses one polarity, it enables dock mode, and the other polarity triggers car mode. Docks have magnets inside them that trigger one mode or the other. Certain apps can trigger car mode as well, but I can’t find anything that executes a shortcut or task upon entering car mode. There might be a variable in tasker I don’t know about, but even then I wouldn’t know how to integrate it with lightning.

I would be happy if I could make it change upon connecting to my car’s Bluetooth as well. Can tasker trigger an event in lightning?

I could help to combine with tasker, but you need an event. Without something trigger all the stuff nothing makes sense to do…

Okay, I’m able to make my own “car mode” profile in tasker trigger when it’s charging and connected to my Bluetooth. How can I make this profile trigger a desktop change in lightning?

[untested] use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autoshortcut to trigger a lightning shortcut, in your case “go to specific desktop…”.

Wow, can’t believe I’ve never seen this before. This actually solves a lot of my tasker problems. Thank you so much!
