Also this sort of idea where the pen represents the script writing capability. I feel the LLX icon needs to capture the user/developer interface that other launchers lack … whether hand, pen etc.

I like it too although I prefer the hand because the pen is only used to “create” whereas the hand can do a lot more. Maybe the lightning pen could be used to complement the main icon instead of replacing it.
