Interesting (minor-ish) issue I’ve encountered.

When I applied the icon pack, using app drawer settings, the contacts icon was not changed, but it was masked.

I then manually selected the icon, and it changed successfully, but the mask’s background was not removed.

I’m not even sure if this is a Lightning Launcher issue, or if it’s a problem with the icon pack.

Any ideas?

It looks like there are a few others as well, no?

+Bill VanDusen the others are stock icons, which are masked. The Contacts icon is an icon, manually applied, from the icon pack, but the “mask” background remained.

That happens to me sometimes. I just have to go into the icon settings for that app and press the ‘X’ in the top left corner to remove the mask. Also did you tap “revert custom icons” in the app drawer’s icon pack settings before applying the icon pack?

bahrta sai Yes, I cleared all, before applying. The problem was that the icon pack’s Contacts icon didn’t apply, automatically, rather the OEM icon was masked (as if there were no icon in the icon pack).

Then I manually selected the icon, but the mask remained.

The icon pack probably doesnt include your contacts app package name in its table.

The mask obviously stays if you only apply a new icon. “applying” an icon pack is simply a batch action to set icons/masks/etc. So, after applying the icon pack, your item has a custom mask, which lightning will keep until you tell it otherwise.

Lukas Morawietz I understood why the mask was initially applied.

Is there a way for me to apply/remove the mask from specific items?

I’ve only been able to do this via the batch process. There are numerous icons in my app drawer, which I want masked, but also examples like this, in which case I prefer to remove the mask and manually choose an icon.

Is there another method, I’m missing?

    Vielen Dank.

Michael P. Jackson removing can be done in the icon settings. Applying from an icon pack… never tried
