The ‘pinch zoom’ is a feature that in some cases you don’t want to have in your screen. So you can disable it in the settings. Ok, all fine.

The problem is that while you are editing that screen in free mode you sometimes want to ‘zoom’ (in my case, to be more accurate).

So my suggestion is to let users (with an option in general settings or something) to allow to zoom in edit mode, even if in normal mode you choose not.

Now, the only way to do this (and in need to do it every time) is to allow pinch, edit, disallow pinch.

And you? Do you think is a good idea?

Well I did think it would be useful, but I have found that the geometry setting has made zooming for accuracy in editing mode unnecessary for me.

Yes Chris Chastain, it’s true. But in my screen, even with the geometry menu (that I use, it’s wonderful) I need to zoom to see where the items are being placed (a tablet…big screen…small icons…) anyway it’s my problem, so Pierre Hébert don’t need to do it just for me.

True, I am myself annoyed quite frequently by this. I don’t remember if there was a reason for this, or if I just missed it.

If nobody can find a valid reason to disable pinch zoom in edit mode, I will enable it 😉
